THE UNIVERSITY

At a glance.

Kunming Medical University traces its history to Donglu University’s medical programme in 1933 and adopted its present name in 2012. Its main campus and International Education School are at Chenggong. The six-year English-taught MBBS includes medical sciences, clinical subjects and one internship year. Chinese-language qualification and clinical assessment are required before internship.

  • Six-year English MBBS

Medical sciences and clinical subjects lead to practical training and a one-year internship. Courses include Anatomy, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Neurology and Ophthalmology.

  • Internship conditions

Complete pre-internship clinical training and assessment. MBBS rules require HSK Level 3 or a pass in the university’s Chinese-language test before placement. The university normally arranges the hospital; an alternative placement needs hospital and university approval.

  • Graduation

Submit the internship hospital’s records and certificate to qualify for the graduation examination.
