Nanjing Medical University began in Zhenjiang in 1934, moved to Nanjing in 1957 and adopted its present name in 1993. English-taught Clinical Medicine lasts six years. Students study at Jiangning Campus in years 1–4, move to Wutai Campus in year 5 and complete a hospital internship in year 6.

Scholarship options.

  • NMU entrance awards

    Entrance-award levels are RMB 34,000, RMB 17,000, RMB 8,500 and RMB 5,000. The four levels cover 5%, 10%, 15% and 70% of entrants respectively, through admission selection.

  • Government scholarships

    Nanjing Government Scholarship awards are RMB 10,000, with limited places. Jiangsu Government Scholarship awards follow the annual award category and allocation.

  • Payment before scholarship

    The admission deposit remains payable before final admission documents. Plan for the full fees until a scholarship is awarded. FirstLiners prepares and follows up your scholarship application.

BEFORE YOU APPLY

Entry requirements.

  • Nationality, age and schooling

    Non-Chinese ordinary-passport holder under 25, without a criminal record abroad, with high-school graduation or equivalent/higher qualification. Under-18 applicants need approval and a notarised guardian certificate; final-year applicants provide the diploma by registration.

  • Academic alternatives

    School GPA at least 3.0/4.0 or equivalent with Physics/Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry; GCE A-level subjects at least C; or GED total at least 600 and each subject at least 150. For Indian applicants, the academic thresholds are: state-board 85%, CBSE 70% and NEET 300 (2024–2026); FirstLiners assesses the individual qualification and sets out which conditions apply together before submission.

  • English and CSCA

    Native/official English; IELTS 6.0 with each band at least 5.0; TOEFL 85 with each section at least 15; Duolingo 115; or official English-medium high-school evidence. Predicted scores are not accepted. CSCA Mathematics and Chemistry must be from the preceding 12 months.

  • Nationality history

    Relevant Chinese-origin cases require four years of foreign nationality/passport history and two years abroad in the four years ending 30 April of entry year; nine months counts as one year.

  • The admission deposit is non-refundable and paid after pre-admission. Its payment details are in the fee section.
  • Indian applicants are assessed using their board, marks and NEET result.
  • Attend one of the offered interview dates. Declining both makes an applicant ineligible.

    Complete and sign the NMU application form.

  • Passport and nationality evidence

    Passport valid for at least one year. Relevant Chinese-parentage/former-nationality applicants also provide parents’ identity evidence, birth/naturalization evidence and entry/exit records.

  • Photograph

    Digital colour passport photograph with white background.

  • Diploma

    Highest diploma/degree original scan or notarized copy, in Chinese or English; pre-graduation proof accepted initially. Graduating applicants must provide their final diploma by registration.

  • Transcripts

    Original scans or notarized copies in Chinese or English.

  • Non-criminal record

    Provide a non-criminal-record certificate.

  • Physical examination

    Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English; valid for six months.

  • English evidence

    Accepted test certificate or supporting English-medium school evidence. IELTS 6.0/every component 5.0, TOEFL 85/every component 15 or Duolingo 115; native/official English or approved English-medium evidence may qualify. Predicted scores are not accepted.

  • Personal statement

    At least 500 words covering education, reasons for applying and strengths.

  • CSCA report

    Mathematics and Chemistry results obtained within the last 12 months.

  • Other evidence

    Optional supporting attachments; bring original application documents to registration.

  • Guardian certificate if under 18

    Notarised guardian certificate for an applicant under 18. FirstLiners coordinates the guardian approval and required form.

Application and arrival
