Wenzhou Medical University was established in 1958 and adopted its present name in 2013. Its International Education School and English-taught MBBS began in 2006. Clinical Medicine lasts six years, including a final-year internship; Dentistry lasts five years. Clinical teaching includes the university’s First and Second Affiliated Hospitals and Eye Hospital.
Six-year English MBBS covers diagnostics, radiology, medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics/gynaecology, epidemiology, neurology, psychiatry, infectious disease, ENT, ophthalmology and family medicine. Chinese and Medical Chinese prepare students for clinical communication.
The standing MBBS curriculum schedules 48 weeks of internship in year six. Clinical-language qualification and placement arrangements follow your cohort’s curriculum. Chinese and Medical Chinese prepare students for patient communication.
BDS is five years. Pharmacy, Nursing, Biotechnology and Rehabilitation Therapy are four-year routes with separate curricula and health conditions.

Generally ages 18–30, with high-school graduation or equivalent and Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Strong foundation-programme results receive priority. Hold an ordinary foreign passport. Relevant Chinese-origin cases require four years of foreign nationality and at least two years abroad in the four years ending 30 April of entry year; nine months counts as one year.
For non-English-speaking countries: IELTS 6.0 with every band at least 5.0; TOEFL 70 with every section at least 15; Duolingo 105; accepted equivalent; or entire high-school education in English. Take CSCA Mathematics and Chemistry in English.
The university assesses vision/colour vision, hearing, smell and speech, specified infectious or serious chronic illness, and suitability to complete study. The entry medical examination may cancel admission. BDS does not accept left-handed applicants; other programme-specific health requirements also apply.
