Xi’an Jiaotong University offers separate six-year English-taught programmes in Clinical Medicine and Dentistry. MBBS study includes Chinese and medical terminology, basic medical sciences, clinical subjects and supervised hospital internship. Dentistry combines basic medicine with oral sciences and a one-year clinical internship. Each degree has its own entry and CSCA requirements.
MBBS: six-year sequence
Two terms of Chinese and medical terminology, five terms of basic medical sciences, three terms of clinical courses and two terms of supervised hospital internship. Complete compulsory courses, internship and theoretical and practical graduation examinations.
Internship assessment
Attending doctors supervise final-year rotations, recorded in a logbook. The final assessment combines theory (60%) and practical operations (40%).
BDS is a separate degree
The six-year dental programme includes basic medicine, endodontics, periodontology, oral surgery, orthodontics and prosthodontics, followed by a one-year clinical internship. MBBS and BDS have separate entry and CSCA requirements.

RMB 15,000 for the first degree year for selected students from Belt and Road countries. Applicants need a high-school qualification, must be no older than 25, and must meet the programme admission requirements. Merit selection applies; other financial scholarships cannot be held at the same time.
Medical and dental funding
The general freshman tuition-waiver award covers non-medical programmes. MBBS and BDS students should plan for the full fees. FirstLiners handles scholarship preparation alongside your application.

BEFORE YOU APPLY
Entry requirements.
Age and citizenship
Non-Chinese ordinary-passport holder, under 25 and in good health. Under 18 applicants require guardian authorization; relevant nationality cases must meet national and university rules.
Education
High-school/senior-secondary qualification or advanced diploma. Graduating students must provide the final diploma before 1 September 2026.
English
IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 80, Duolingo 110 or another equivalent accepted by XJTU. Native English speakers may be exempt after university assessment.
CSCA and selection
MBBS requires Mathematics and Chemistry CSCA using English papers. Selection considers academic documents, CSCA and a comprehensive interview. FirstLiners coordinates the BDS-specific CSCA subjects separately.
MBBS and BDS have separate entry and CSCA checklists.
The general undergraduate tuition-waiver scheme excludes medical programmes. Any separate medical or dental award has its own eligibility rules.

Notarized diploma
Notarised high-school diploma. Other-language certificates need an official notarised Chinese/English translation. Current students may first supply school-issued pre-graduation proof; provide the final diploma by the registration deadline.
Notarized school transcripts
All high-school courses and an explanation of the school’s grading scale; translations into Chinese/English must be notarized.
School-leaving/standardized results
National unified examination or international standardized examination results, such as A-level or IBDP.
English language certificate
IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 80, Duolingo 110 or another university-accepted equivalent. Submit the official certificate unless XJTU approves an exemption; native English speakers are assessed by the university rather than automatically waived.
CSCA report
MBBS: Mathematics and Chemistry from English papers. Supply the scanned score report to FirstLiners. BDS has programme-specific subject requirements.
One school recommendation
One recommendation from the high-school headmaster or a teacher. It must be signed and include both telephone and email contact details; a study plan does not replace this letter.
Study plan
At least 600 words/characters in English or Chinese. Prepare the plan for the degree selected in your application; it is separate from the school recommendation, academic records and language evidence. Follow any university template provided through FirstLiners.
Passport
Ordinary passport valid for at least six months beyond intended enrolment. Under-18 applicants require guardian authorization, and relevant nationality-history cases need evidence under national and university rules; FirstLiners obtains the exact supporting forms.
Medical examination
Foreigner Physical Examination Record in Chinese or English. Complete all tests and attach a photograph with seal, the doctor’s opinion and signature, and the hospital seal. Valid for six months: arrange it against the intended submission date rather than using an expired report. Check that all required sections are completed.
Non-criminal record
Certificate within its validity period.

Additional evidence where applicable. Upload clear scans, rather than phone photographs. Originals are checked at registration. FirstLiners coordinates the separate BDS document checklist.
Application and arrival
Prepare
Apply through FirstLiners for MBBS or BDS. Complete the applicable CSCA tests and assemble the full file. FirstLiners coordinates the application window for your intake.
Submit and pay
Apply through FirstLiners. After initial review, make the non-refundable university application payment when FirstLiners relays the university’s payment instructions; the initial payment is included within the FirstLiners application/registration package.
Selection and offer
Complete the university interview. FirstLiners coordinates pre-admission notices, tuition instructions and final acceptance.
Registration
Follow the date on your admission notice. Bring original identity, diploma and language documents for rechecking. Graduating applicants must meet the final-diploma deadline.
