Xinjiang Medical University in Urumqi developed from a medical college established in 1954 and admitted its first students in 1956. The present university formed in 1998. Clinical Medicine is a six-year programme with English-taught and Chinese-taught routes. Other undergraduate medical programmes are taught in Chinese and have separate language requirements.

High-school graduation or equivalent; ages 18–25; at least 70%, GPA 2.0/4.0 or 2.5/5.0. Birth date: after 31 August 2001 and before 31 August 2008. FirstLiners explains the dates for your intended intake. Applicants must be non-Chinese and medically fit.
IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 75 or accepted equivalent. Native/official English or English-medium high-school education may support exemption. Chinese-taught routes separately require HSK Level 4 with at least 180 points.

Relevant former Chinese nationals and applicants with Chinese parentage must satisfy the university’s additional nationality and overseas-residence requirements and supply the applicable evidence.
